Who we are
The municipalities of Lunenburg County are working together to create a region where everyone belongs. Through an intermunicipal partnership between the Town of Lunenburg, Town of Mahone Bay, Town of Bridgewater, Municipality of the District of Chester, and Municipality of the District of Lunenburg, we are building a coordinated approach to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA).
This work is carried out by two regional roles: the Regional Accessibility Coordinator and the Regional Anti-Racism & Diversity Coordinator, who support advisory committees made up of both community members and municipal councillors. Together, these committees provide guidance to council and a strong community voice.
By sharing resources and expertise across our municipalities, we ensure consistent progress that reflects provincial legislation (the Nova Scotia Accessibility Act and Anti-Hate Act), while also meeting the unique needs of our communities. Our commitment is clear: progress over perfection, and belonging for all.
